CelcticCarnation asked:

Ok so to make a long story short I lived with white people my whole life and knew almost no Spanish. About a year ago we moved right next to the border and I’m still not picking up on the language! I have tried Rosetta stone already but I can’t keep going because of my brother(hard to explain). i need some other ways to learn the language. If you have any good methods, books, programs, or advice I would really appreciate your help.

It will help you a lot if you read books such as “La casa de Bernarda Alba”, “La Fundación”, “La verdad sobre el caso Savolta”…
Or watch these movies, they are interesting: “Mar adentro”, “Abre los ojos”, “El laberinto del fauno”, “REC”, “La lengua de las mariposas”.
It also helps if you talk to a native speaker, do you have msn? If you want, you can add me.

Here is a website I go to just about everyday. They have all kinds of conversations that you’ll hear natives using everyday.

They also have lots of videos that you can use to practice listening.

Best of all tons and tons of free stuff.
