Nina asked:

I do not speak Spanish. Do you know what I can do to get him to learn it? Any programs out there?

    What they said^^^^^

A child will learn a second language much quicker and easier if they first have a full grasp of their native language.

My Chinese friends speak mandarin at home, their daughters learned that - in school they learned English, and the grandparents as babysitters spoke only the local language of Nanking… the kids had no problem learning that.

Another example - When I was 11, my family had to escape from Czechoslovakia. I knew Czech, and a few words of German and Russian. For 6 months I learned English. Then when school started, I got to go on into the next grade in American school.

My advice… don’t push it. Little kids learn anything faster than you. Don’t get into any serious teaching before 2 or 3 years old. Meantime, If I remember right there are TV channels like Univision and the like in Spanish. You don’t have to watch - just turn it on, and your baby will pick a lot up by “osmosis” ?. Then here is a web page to teach free basic languages:
    (means before you know it)
